Description

Lovingly Toutured imposed itself upon the course of the evening around 11pm, and served to bring a large proportion of the audience together to participate in Kimbal Quist Bumstead's performance. Through tactile experience, analysis and rendering a visual comment through drawing, photography and sculpture, Bumstead's performances confront the audience as a reaction to passivity. His artistic doctrine circles around the relationships and inevitable power structures that result from the space and the body, which are two key factors of his work. By physically participating, or simply bearing witness to, Kimbal Bumbstead incorporates the viewer in an interrogation of objectification, inhumanity and concupiscence.
